Overview
Dechaerrim originated as a nameless antagonist in a four-page comic Joelle did on the origin of Draug, whom Dech created (in-canon; obviously Joelle created Draug out-canon). He then went on to become the antagonist of a now-abandoned story she worked on, and eventually became solely a role-playing character. At first he was the worst major villain because of his sadistic obsession with Jayden, and later became a neutral character after falling in love with her. Although his mother is also in play, she was created and brought IC after he was, and thus they are both 1st-gen. His name means 'half-demon offspring' in the Oceran language. Personality Dechaerrim for most of his life was an evil hedonist who had learned to place his own desires above the wellfare of anyone around him, and even took pleasure in causing others harm or pursuing petty vendettas. Recently his demeanor has softened considerably and he shows at least some care for others and no longer desires them harmed. He is still quite hedonistic and loves to fulfill his vices (especially those of sex and intoxicants), and has some serious trouble with fidelity. He is rather charismatic and well-spoken, sometimes to the point of being a show-off and being prone to speeches and lengthy soliloquy. He enjoys parties, games, and jokes, but also thoughtful discussion. He still has a terrible temper and can flip quickly between a jovial mood and a shouting fit or a deep, withdrawn brood. He enjoys poking fun at others and disrespecting authority figures and can be quite the asshole, taking fun in arguments for their own sake. Underneath his other moods he is still full of a lot of hate and shame over his childhood and his run as a villain, and will be the first person to react, and usually violently, explosively so, when another person does something to harm an innocent or anyone in his family. Appearance Dech's natural form is that of a gargantuan legless, four-armed demon. One pair of arms is thick with curved talons and used for pulling himself across the ground; the other pair is long and thin with thumbless hands, used mostly just for combat. His body is gray-skinned and hairless, long and somewhat serpentine, and his tail ends in a dagger-like stinger full of liquid neurotoxins. His head is like that of a dragon's skull, most of the skin having dissolved with age (he's 277 years old, the equivalent of middle-aged), and a pair of forward-curving ringed horns. He has three eyes that glow yellow and red, and the pupils are scalloped like a gecko's; one eye moves independently of the other two. His teeth are huge and dangerous and ridged like T-rex's; grown humans could fit in his mouth with ease. In human form he is a young man with fair skin, cinnamon-red hair (sometimes short, sometimes in a ponytail), and dark brown eyes, and stands 5'6'' (168 cm) tall. He wears glasses. Powers Dechaerrim's natural powers as a demon include the power to control (and an immunity to) electricity and fire, as well as a very high resistance to poisons. He cannot sleep, and does not need to eat. He reads minds, has name sense, and can teleport. Besides those abilities, he has gleaned a wealth of spells, favoring necromancy and summoning/sending magic best, but still having considerable abilities in all fields. He also has some rune magic, mostly just for casting barriers and wards. He has degrading sight due to age. Pre-role-play history Dech grew up on the chaotic Hellish world of Ocera, being mostly raised by his human mother (a captive there) and his many siblings. He and his siblings viciously abused and assaulted each other in every way possible to try to enslave one another as minions, and his father (then-leader of Ocera, by merit of being most powerful) occasionally joined in the slaughter and torture. Finally, due to senility, his father become a complete psychopath despite failing magic abilities, and attacked a band of neutral biologist wizards residing in a palace they had constructed on the planet. His father was summarily defeated and killed by them. Dech, along with his siblings and other demons, were at various points in time taken captive as a subject of the wizards' cruel zoology studies. He finally organized the other captive demons under his command and overtook the palace from within. He killed all but a few of the wizards and promised the survivors mercy if they bound his older sister Teliah on another world. They obeyed and he killed them anyway. He gathered a huge force of minions and soon ruled easily from the stronghold, being safe there as much as he was never safe outside. He studied the wizards' spellbooks and so became a spellcaster and linguist, and then learned of the other realms the wizards had visited, and became to dabble his evil hobbies on worlds. About 110 years ago, one of the wizards' notebooks landed on 1880s Earth, and came into possession of a man named Kenneth Walters. The man ended up calling Dechaerrim there, and Dech threatened to torture and kill him for being a bother. Ken avoided this fate by offering his friend Monica as a slave instead. Dech wooed and seduced her and eventually stole her name and trapped her on Ocera, revealing his true nature and turning her into a Dizastrusi (and renaming her 'Yaheva'), as well as raping and impregnating her with Rahim, whom he largely raised himself. He had done this sort of thing to countless others before and after Monica as well, although she is the only one who bore him children. At one point he voluntarily genderbent himself during an experimental phase, going under the pseudonym "Karen" and eventually getting involved with a man named Richard, who didn't know Dech's true species or sex. Dech became pregnant, but did not have a chance to tell Richard, the latter who had just been caught cheating. Dech ended their relationship and reverted to being a male again, causing an abrupt termination of the pregnancy. At some unspecified point in the past, a rivalry formed between him and Queen Meilcarska of The Nexus. It's gone as yet is unexplained, but it's likely just because they were so similar in evil habits. Role-play history Dech first made his IC appearance in a town nicknamed "Milkshake Town", where he followed a waitress home and murdered her for sport. Vex discovered the scene in action and attempted to kill Dech, who easily defeated him. This began Vex's enmity for Dech. Later on, the minion Draug met Jayden on the material plane, and tricked her into thinking Dech was holding Gloria captive. Jayden went with Draug to Ocera plead for Gloria, even agreeing to have sex with Dech as ransom. Yaheva revealed that no demons there had even met Gloria before, then helped Jayden flee the plane. Thus began Dech's grudge against Jayden. He mostly let the issue rest until he discovered that Jayden, Vex, Gloria, and many others lived together in a mansion at Lakeside. He took advantage of the opportunity to torment Jayden mentally, while harming her friends physically. He kidnapped and tortured Vex, gave Adam a pair of demonic wings, tortured and raped Traica, seduced runaway Princess Michelle, had Draug frame Dmitri for murder, and slept with both the evil Queen Malystrics, and the Succubus Kii. Eventually, Dmitri had to trade a nymph as a sex slave to free Michelle from Dech. After Draug framed Dmitri, Gim sealed Draug's soul in a plushie and gifted it to Jayden. (Though Gloria killed Draug shortly afterwards, Gim later revived him and gave him as a gift back to Dech.) Eventually Dech put out a hit-list on everyone and sent it to King Derkai, Malystric's ex-husband. He also turned Kiba into a demon and ordered her to kill her own father; when she refused, he beat her. He also beat Tanis for helping Gim to help Michelle escape. Finally he managed to kill Jayden and destroy her remains. Gloria still managed to revive her. When he learned of this, he had Rahim kidnap Gloria, and used Jayden's earlier deal of trading sex for Gloria's life. Jayden agreed, but instead of his usual brutal rape tactics, he attempted to make the experience 'pleasant', and she agreed to spend another night with him to remove Kiba from his hit-list. Dech soon became actually enamored with Jayden, and soon revoked the entire hit-list and stopped harming her or any of her comrades. However, in order to take back the hit-list, he had to sacrifice himself as a captive to Derkai for torture purposes. Finding out that Derkai would never release him, Dech convinced the Prince Jasper to kill him (thus ending the contract), and he was revived by Gloria. At some point before this, he was assassinated by Gaurav at Michelle's request; his son Rahim destroyed the remains, but again, Dech was revived. Rahim was later enslaved by Malystrics, and killed by Dech. Dech was then soon forced to battle Gim to prove his love for Jayden, and though Gim did not survive the battle, his final spell left Dech powerless. Vex, who at the time had god powers, took the opportunity to kidnap and beat Dech until Malystrics, Jayden, and a wizard named Raythe came to reclaim him. Some time later, Jayden momentarily gained god powers of her own (courtesy of a potion left on the planet by Binkasu), and used them to restore Dech to full strength. Jayden became pregnant with Dech's child at the same time Teliah took over his homeworld, and he moved in with Jayden. Almost immediately after their daughter Sokoya's birth, she was kidnapped by Gim (revived by then by Binkasu), the ransom being that Dech had to help restore Gim to full power. He reluctantly agreed, and proposed to Jayden upon his return from the mission. Around this time, his mother Saruth had reappeared. However, he found her embarrassing and avoided her at all costs, even letting her wander into the forest by herself one day after she was insulted by Malystrics. Ruth was immediately kidnapped and gang-raped by bandits, and Dech (rather guiltily) ran to her rescue, torturing and raping and finally killing the entire bandit camp, sparing only their leader Eldar, a servant of Derkai, as a warning for any others. Upon learning of Ruth's pregnancy (with Eldar's child), Dech finally stopped avoiding her and spoke to her privately, smoothing things out between them. Dech was then enlisted by Sir Samuel to rescue a vanished Adam. Shortly after doing so, Teliah found Dech at Lakeside and kidnapped him, bringing him back to Ocera. She then took Jayden captive as well, and Adam and Mai stayed on Ocera of their own will. Adam ended up arguing bitterly with Dech and then murdering him (Dech allowed this to happen, out of guilt), but the goddess Paji revived him on Adam's request. Almost immediately, Gim 'rescued' Dech and Jayden and brought them to one of Gim's own planes. Only days later, Teliah agreed to let them all leave and go about their business. Soon however, Dech was then taken captive by evil and more-powerful-than-him goddess Ives as a pet, servant, and sex slave. He was forced to tell his family he was leaving them for no reason, and their memories of any proof otherwise had been erased. All efforts to rescue him were futile, until Malystrics used a demon summoning ritual to call him back, which also secretly cast an obedience spell on him (but only in deference to her). She also told Dech that she had had his son, but didn't want them to meet. He managed to repair relations with his family, and was then immediately called by Mai to reopen a portal to another world which had captured Kiba. He did so, at which time Vex reappeared, and threatened to kill him. Dech has been unable to redeem himself to Vex so far. As part of his redemption efforts, he turned Draug back into a human, then travelled to Sapphiron to see Michelle. He learned that she had been forced to have an abortion on her return home, and that Dmitri was unable to return because of the crimes that were pinned on him. Dech took all of the blame for Dmitri's charges, and was drawn and quartered, but later revived. Dech has been the object of his evil goddess Aphila's ire frequently. She has de-aged, de-powered, and kidnapped him (and most of his family and associates) many times over. She most recently gave him amnesia dating back to when he was still evil, and he immediately raped both Jayden and Kalil, which landed him in prison. In exchange for the return of his memories, Malystrics traded his sister Tyr to Aphila as payment. Although restored, he agreed to serve the remainder of his sentence anyway (which included jailtime, mage fetters, and being female for a couple months; during this brief period, Del'narreth raped her in secret). Dech's mood took a bad downturn after Jasper was kidnapped by Malystrics. Dech took a party, including Gloria, Peer, Vex, and Dylan, and went to rescue Jasper. They were defeated and taken captive, Dech being brutalized and raped by Malystrics, Derkai, and Amos (and the others being tortured and shackled elsewhere). He went into an aphasia and avoided everyone for days once brought back, and has still never divulged the trauma to anyone. After this, Anutda-at was taken by Malystrics, but not tortured as expected; instead, raised to be evil. Jayden was also kidnapped by the evil trio as well as Harziyax, who had tortured and raped her, and attacked all of her siblings, just previously. While Jayden was kept captive for many months, Dech went into a depression and began to drink and do drugs. As time went on he began to sleep with other people, mostly just Drow at Del'narreth's manor. Eventually Dech snuck away in secret and became "Karen" again so as to sleep with Richard, who had recently been mysteriously revived and was living in town. However, Dech became pregnant and was unable to transform back; shortly, Jayden was returned from captivity, and their relationship became very rocky. Current Status Dechaerrim lives with Jayden and their children in Lakeside. Family Dech's parents are Harziyax and Saruth. His uncle is Roger, and his great-uncle is Timber. His sisters are Teliah, Violet, and Tyr. His nephew is Nimiszu. His sons are Rahim and Anutda-at, and his daughter is . His wife is Jayden. |
