Personality Del'narreth is suave, calm, sophisticated, calculating, manipulative, womanizing, power-hungry, and utterly evil, without compassion for other beings at all, and having very few scruples against acts such as torture, murder, creating of the undead, rape via blackmail, and incest. However, much of this stems from his devotion to the god Innoruuk, the God of Hate, who actively encourages this sort of behavior. Appearance Del'narreth is a handsome Dark Elf man of indeterminate age. He has dark blue skin, green eyes, and long white hair typically tied at the neck in an aristocratic fashion. He often wears black robes befitting a Necromancer. Powers Del'narreth is an extremely accomplished wizard, primarily in Necromancy, able to create and control hordes of undead. He also has armies of living Dark Elves and trolls under his command, man of whom he enchants to be more deadly and defensive in battle. His manor's defenses are nearly impenetrable, with powerful wards against unwanted scrying and teleportation placed on the property. Pre-role-play history Del'narreth was the unloved middle child of the noble N'on house in the Dark Elf city of Neriak (from Everquest canon). He eventually rose to power as the leader of a wizards' guild there, and is favored by Innoruuk. At one point he was married to a Drow woman who was pregnant with her child when she was murdered by a member of another House. Role-play history Del'narreth mostly remained in the background, doing his own thing down in Neriak, until a terrible event involving an artifact known simply as "The Orb". The Orb was an ancient item able to, among other things, create legions of undead. As a Necromancer, Del'narreth was enticed, and sought to claim it. In his efforts, he somehow enraptured a very large group of people in a realistic, shared nightmare, wherein they walked the zombie-infested, haunted ex-town that had been previously ravaged by a magical plague. However, Del'narreth had hired two assassins to go after his sister Traica; the first one, Beiel, lusted after her too strongly to kill her and kept her as a prisoner instead (until her multiple escapes, and his eventualy suicide), and the second one, Kane, agreed not to kill her in exchange for a night of sex, during which he impregnated her (he later died as well). Del'narreth's efforts to find The Orb did not reach climax until both Traica and the phoenix Gloria were given messages by their respective gods (Innoruuk, and the Sun) to find The Orb. Traica was meant to merely claim it for unknown reasons, while Gloria was meant to claim it so her god could destroy its evil. Traica and Gloria both arrived at the dead city at the same time as Del'narreth's forces; Gloria was poisoned and left for dead, while Traica was taken prisoner. Del'narreth attempted to gain extra favor with Innoruuk by sacrificing Traica's half-human son when it was born, but Gloria recovered in time to fetch the others, who rescued Traica and her newborn, and they all fled Neriak unharmed. Del'narreth later on sent his great-niece, Vindae, to capture Dechaerrim and Dech's mother Saruth for information on Traica's whereabouts during one of her escapes from Beiel. He led them to believe that he would let them free if Ruth slept with him, which she did so, only to be immediately murdered by Beiel. Upon her speedy resurrection days later, she conceived with Del'narreth's child. This led him to kidnap her later in her term, both to continue getting sex from her, and to claim a potential heir for his house. Unfortunately, she gave birth to a girl, and he had the infant sent away to be given to Dechaerrim with the false message that he had killed Ruth. Dechaerrim, Traica, and many others eventually stormed Del'narreth's manor to recover her; but he took Traica's aide, Eilden, hostage for torture purposes. He finally returned a battered, crippled Eilden to the others, once they had accepted him as dead and were holding a funeral for him. Del'narreth's latest evil activity was to capture Traica when she was de-aged by Aphila, an evil Goddess with whom he had formed an alliance. However, Traica's aged restored and she escaped back to the surface. Del'narreth has had sexual relations with Saruth, Mare, Aphila, a Drow woman named Kaeilye, among others. He also once kidnapped and raped Dechaerrim, who was at the time de-magicked and female. Del'narreth continuously tries to seduce Ruth, who always refuses him. Current Status Del'narreth is alive and lives in Neriak. Family Del'narreth's sisters are Mare X'lottl and Traica N'on. His niece is Leylia, whose daughter is Vindae (whose distant descendent is Miranda). His nephews are Tannen, Israel, and an unnamed male child. His daughter is Violet, whose mother is Saruth. |
