Overview
Kalil is a first-generation character created by Joelle. He originated as the main protagonist of a novel she was writing, and she decided to test him "in the field", so to speak, by role-playing him. Despite being an introverted character, he soon became one of the core main cast, with numerous plots revolving around him by 2007, a few years after his initial introduction. The reason for the variable pronouns on this page is due to Kalil's sudden and permanent genderbend during the middle of his/her role-play history. Personality Kalil is intensely self-conscious due to constant psychological abuse at a "school" (which was more of a concentration camp/slave training facility), always paranoid about others' opinions about her, and often making decisions based entirely on what she thinks others would want her to do. She has extreme difficulties truly thinking or acting for herself, becoming frightened and dysfunctional if stripped of the ability to depend on someone else's direction. She is cowardly, and a pacifist (at least towards sentient beings). She is introverted, hating to talk about herself, becoming agitated in crowds or when the center of attention, and disliking personal responsibility (but will deny the latter). She can also be very vindictive and petty, allowing her perceived enemies to come to danger indirectly, as long as she's not required to do any harm herself. She is constantly battling with mixed feelings about everything, from her dual person/animal nature, to her lives as a noble and as a pet, to living on both a sci-fi and a fantasy world, and recently, about being a straight male in the past and now living permanently as a straight female instead. She is also claustrophobic and afraid of thunderstorms. Appearance In her Azorian (demihuman) form, Kalil is a woman of about 30. She has has long, semi-wavy brown hair with white tipa, dark metallic amber eyes with dilated, owly pupils, a pronounced nose, and an olive-tan skin tone. Her build and height are both average, though she's starting to lose her shape, from age, and from multiple pregnancies. In her kagmar (canine) form, she best resembles the African wild dog if it had been crossbred with a German shepherd and a saluki. Her fur is mainly brown, with black, lateral, splotchy stripes, as well as a dark muzzle and dark erect ears. Her mane and leg feathering is golden, as well as the fluff lining her tail, which is long for a dog. Furthermore, each dark hair is frosted white on the very tip. Powers Kalil has no magical abilities, and her shapeshifting is natural and genetic. Her senses are normal for a human when in Azorian form, except his sight, which is above average due to her enlarged pupils. She has a horrific allergy to chocolate and raisins, however. Pre-role-play history Kalil was born on the technologically futuristic world of Metalibethita as the product of his criminal kagmar father raping his Azorian mother, a married noblewoman. At his age four his mother and her husband sent him to Dotrum Tah, an obedience/slave training school for animal and animal hybrids. He then lived there until adulthood, where he was sold as a mascot animal to Aeria University. There he fell in love with Crystal, a pure-blooded Azorian, to the jealousy of Crystal's best friend Iridel. When Iridel could not convince them to break up, she cornered Kalil alone and assaulted him, then tried to convince him Crystal was dead. Enraged, he murdered her, and then fled the college to avoid the police. While in flight, a random rift in reality transported him into the fantasy/medieval world proper. Role-play history Shortly after arriving to fantasy/medieval world, Kalil, though very introverted, managed to collect many friends and allies. Eventually this led to his loving relationship with Mai, a catgirl. At first he was unaware she already had a girlfriend of her own, Kii, and by the time he found out, Mai became pregnant with twins. Their relationship had many ups and downs because of Kii, eventually leading to Kalil moving out with the twins. Jayden built him a house at Lakeside Town, and eventually Mai (along with just about every other character at the time) moved in with him, and Jayden upgraded the house to a triple-story mansion. Not long after, Kalil mistakenly put on a cursed magical ring, becoming superficially female. Soon following, she was raped, impregnated, and then kidnapped by an incubus intent on holding her prisoner forever as his wife. After giving birth, Kalil finally killed the incubus holding her, and fled back to the mansion. By then, however, it was abandoned, for Kii's father had desecrated the land with evil magic. Kalil narrowly escaped death when Sir Leopold and a band of paladins rescued her and brought her to Jayden's castle to be healed. However, the cursed ring lost its magic -- and in doing so, made it a permanent effect. Kalil met a dim-witted man named Jirair during her break-up with Mai, and Jirair became attracted to Kalil immediately. The two of them, with Tamary in tow, left civilization to live together in the wilderness for months, during which time Kalil finally agreed to be Jirair's mate. Shortly after falling in love, Kalil had to revisit her homeworld Metalibethita, where Kiba was trapped, and was detained and killed by Cyril Tynan, the father of Iridel. Kalil's soul ended up "jumping" into a phase/demi-dimension world, lost to time for a very long time until finally projecting herself back to the fantasy/medieval world proper and losing her memories of the astral experience. Once alive again, Kalil was reunited with Jirair, and they lived with good friend Traica and Traica's adopted daugher Mela, until all three of them became pregnant at around the same time. Kalil was originally pregnant with only one child, which became triplets after being hit by a magic shockwave caused by one of Binkasu's magical crystals. Eventually she had an uneventful birth. Current status Kalil is alive and lives with Jirair and their children. Family Kalil is married to Jirair, and they have three daughters named Honey, Kuma, and Flora. Kalil had twin daughters with ex-girlfriend Mai (when Kal was a man): Kiba, and Sanura (who is deceased). She also has a half-demon son named Tamary. Kalil's unnamed father committed suicide. The status of her mother Tamara and stepfather Ched are unknown, but they are likely still on Metalibethita. |
