Overview
Mai originated mostly out the simple desire to play a homosexual catgirl but eventually became a more three-dimensional character deeply involved with the main plot arcs. Personality Mai is assertive, courageous, and tomboyish, but still sweet and humorous. She has been known to be swayed to the dark side at times, and is strongly led by her emotions, sometimes having difficulties keeping either her love or anger in check. Appearance Mai is humanoid in all aspects, with short, dark brown hair, and brown eyes. She possesses, however, a housecat's tail and ears. Pre-role-play history Mai grew up in a small human village and was good childhood friends with Kii, who was then also believed to be a catgirl. Role-play history Mai and Kii became lovers in adulthood, though Mai constantly insisted that their relationship was platonic or, at most, sibling-like. The openness of the relationship was part of what allowed Mai to then begin courting Kalil, and she soon became pregnant with twins by him. He moved in with them, but after Kii revealed herself to be a succubus, he moved out and took the now-born twins with him. While she lived with Kii alone again, they embarked on a mission to save Mai's long-lost mother. They were attacked by a mysterious sorcerer who claimed to be Mai's rightful 'Master', and it was learned that Mai's mother had died. She and her sister had only been born to replace her and the Master wanted to enslave them both. Mai and Kii did not defeat him, but escaped. Mai finally followed him to his new mansion at Lakeside Town, but a rift remained between them. Kii was faux-killed once, then soul-stolen killed for real, and Mai revived her by sacrificing a virgin's soul in her stead. Kalil left her again for this, but after Kii left her and she saw the error of her ways, she and Kalil reconciled and got back together. Soon afterward, however, Kaylie proved herself to be real and alive, when she kidnapped both Mai and Kalil for the mysterious 'Master'. Kaylie spared Kalil's life so he could send for help, and when he returned to battle the Master, Kaylie switched sides in battle and killed him. It was learned that she only kidnapped Mai so they could defeat him in conjunction. She returned home with them to the castle. Soon after this Mai began experiencing pain of unknown cause. Though she had been tortured for days by the Master, she had been healed completely afterwards. Mai and Kalil's relationship had many ups and downs before he permanently left her, sending her into a depression especially after the recent death of their daughter Sanura at the hands of Aphila. Eventually Mai became romantically involved with Yaheva and they moved in together. However, then the evil demon Harziyax told her that he had Sanura's soul in his keeping, and would revive her under the condition that Mai sacrificed someone in her place. She agreed, and killed the priestess Adyine, then went on the run with Yaheva to avoid arrest. Current Status Mai is alive and at large. Family Mai's parents are deceased. She had two daughters by Kalil, Kiba, and the now-deceased Sanura. She also has a step-child, Kalil's half-demon son named Tamary. Mai's sister is Kaylie. |
