Overview
Lycanthropy is a disease spread through the bite of a werewolf in wolf form. Not all races are susceptible; most shapeshifters and animalfolk aren't. An afflicted person will involuntarily shift into a wolf at the full moon (or a particularly powerful wolf beast on blue or red moons), attacking anyone on sight, forgetting that they were ever people. Upon sunrise or unconsciousness, they return to normal form, then forgetting they were ever a wolf.
When someone is born a werewolf, however, their change is not involuntarily and does not involve amnesia. They can shapeshift between forms at will, but find it easier on the full moon.
Werewolves can either run in packs much like regular wolves, or are solo hunters.
Both afflicted and born werewolves are weak to silver.
