Overview
Rahim began as a minor character in a story by Joelle, then only portrayed as a yappy hellhound puppy. He eventually changed into a reclusive demonic child, and then later to an entirely mean-spirited, teen-aged demon. Personality Rahim is much like a high-strung small dog: he is always jittery and paranoid, talks quickly in a rather high voice (coming across as 'yappy' to people, especially those he's not fond of), has a tendency to bite, bark, and cackle, but is quiet and obedient to the Alpha, who happens to be his own archdemonic father. He is sadistic and cruel, delighting in causing unwarranted anguish and terror, but is also impatient and unintelligent. As a result, he never makes schemes of his own, only carries them own as a pawn for others, and his attempts at 'torture' generally just include a few minutes of mauling someone to death. His position as the eldest and most favorite child of Dech lent him an annoying arrogance. He is never pleasant; at the least he can be simply grating, at the most he can be a raging violent psychopath, if left to his own devices. Appearance Rahim is a teen-aged 3/4 demon. In demonic form, he is a six-legged red-furred dog with long quills sparsely growing from his fur. He has a pair of long, straight, ringed horns, and three eyes, and an arrowheaded tail. In human form, he has bright, pale green eyes, light coppery hair, and his attire is haphazard and uncoordinated, not always fitting right. Powers His powers are a control over and immunity to fire, high resistance to poisons, name-sense, an X-ray third eye, and assorted other generic magical abilities. Pre-role-play history Rahim was conceived when his father Dechaerrim raped captive woman-turned-demon Yaheva. He was only raised a little bit by his mother and soon came under the personal tutelage of Dech, who attempted to teach him combat and magic but due to Rahim's ADD-like jumpy, distracted behavior, Rahim ended up just being trained to be a good obedient servant instead. He lovingly served Dech, being the only child of his allowed to even call him 'Dad', and believed himself be something of a prodigal son or right-hand man. In reality, he was just running errands for Dech and was never going to be set up as the heir to the palace. Most of these errands included terrorizing villagers, kidnapping victims, or acting as emissary and occasional summoned creature to cultists who worshipped Dech. Role-play history Rahim's first IC appearances were subtle and unnoteworthy, where he mostly just moved about in the background and talked to no one (mostly because his father (who he secretly feared) was present at those times). Eventually, he was sent on a mission to kidnap Gloria and hold her hostage on Ocera to force Jayden to trade herself for Gloria in captivity. He did so successfully. Later on, when Dech was absent for a rather long time, Rahim went looking for him and found his beheaded corpse in front of Jayden's castle. The killer was Gaurav, a genie who had been sent to assassinate Dech by Michelle. Since no one besides Gaurav, Michelle, and himself knew about Dech's death, he promptly burned the remains and hid the ashes. He returned home and pretended to have been appointed temporary master of the palace while Dech was on an extended vacation. In a fit of gleeful violence, he ended up killing nearly all of Dech's prisoners and perhaps some of his own siblings. Eventually, he found himself summoned and enslaved by Malystrics, a woman who had slept with his father on one occasion and had no great liking for Rahim. He was forced to help her build a fortress in the forest near Jayden's castle. Finally, Dech was revived and together with Jayden (they had become a couple by then), they sought out Rahim and killed him at the construction site, by means of crushing him with boulders (by Jayden) and fatally stepping on his head and crushing his skull (by Dech). Rahim was much later revived using the demon-summoning cave, this time by the goddess Aphila. She used him for nefarious purposes, mostly to attack and kidnap others, usually with limited success. Due to his experience in the afterlife, his alignment has drastically shifted from Evil to Neutral, and he no longer commits violent crimes on his free will without a very, very good reason first. While being held prisoner in Lakeside for the crimes he was made to do by Aphila, he befriended Tanis, who had recently been turned into a Theksarsi herself. She helped him escape, and later rescued him again when he was captured by a band of Good-aligned clerics. She tended to his injuries while he lived with her at the mansion, and eventually they fell in love with each other, and he agreed to move into her home in Lakeside. Current Status Rahim is alive and well. Family Rahim's parents are Dechaerrim and Yaheva. His grandparents are Harziyax and Saruth. His aunts are Teliah, Violet, and Tyr, and his great-uncle is Roger. His half-sister is Sokoya, and his half-brother is Anutda-at. |
