Overview
"Saruth", or just Ruth, was created after her son, and thus, they are both first-gen. Her birth name is unknown; Saruth is in fact a name given to her by a demon, meaning 'princess of mercy', and it is the name to which her name sense is attuned. Personality Ruth has a young-old duality; her last contact with human civilization was when she was a child, and so her social skills and human knowledges are somewhat stunted. She is also very old, and rather wizened and hardened from the many years of torture endured on Ocera. She was initially distant and distrusting of others, but soon grew into a very warm and maternal person. She has a habit of taking in stray children (whether or not they're actually stray at all), and her greatest joy is in being hospitable. Appearance Although Ruth carries herself with the grandmotherly confidence of an 80-year-old, she looks, physically, to be a teenager of about 15 years old. Her hair is ginger-red, slightly wavy but dry, and comes past the shoulders. Her eyes are dark brown, and her skin is light and creamy, with some freckles. Powers Ruth, now as a Theksarsi, has the same pyro-electro immunities and high damage threshold as the rest of the species, as well as mind-reading, telepathy, et cetera. Her powers are very weak and non-offensive due to her newness as a demon. Pre-role-play history Ruth lived in the rural farmlands on the outskirts of a small village with her parents and little brother. One day, a group of angels came to her, telling her that an archdemon was after them, and that they needed to magically seal their names into secrecy. Ruth agreed, and became the only living being (besides themselves) to know their names, and they fled onto another plane. Shortly after, she was stalked and harrassed by a strange man, who then revealed himself to be the archdemon. He began injuring her using force-dream-manipulation, and then killed her brother, then the pet dog, and finally took her captive. He lent her the demonic taint needed to sustain her, and then he began relentlessly torturing and raping her to coerce her to reveal the angels' names, and her own; the spell prevented him from mind-reading them. She refused, and eventually he lost interest in her, about the same time she became pregnant with Dechaerrim. She raised him on her own, using a small cave as shelter; however when he was about teen-aged (in demon years) he left without warning and never saw her on that planet again. Ruth spent the rest of her life on that plane trying to survive like any other demon, but mostly failing due to her lack of offensive powers, and she ended up only being forced to serve whatever stronger being came along at any time, even after her initial kidnapper had been killed by a group of planehopping wizards. By then, she had questioned whether the 'angels' were really angels, or even if the names they gave her were their true names at all; especially since the archdemon hunting them had died and thus they had no reason to not rescue her. Role-play history Ruth eventually managed to escape from Ocera with the help of Yaheva. She came upon the anthro-tiger kingdom immediately, naked and wounded from recent battles. There she was reunited with Dechaerrim, who was rude to herbefore settling into complete avoidance of her. She did befriend Jayden, Tanis, and Kiba. She also witnessed Kelius' second cursing of Jacen. About a month or so after having arrived at the castle, she met Malystrics, who insulted her harshly, prompting Ruth to leave the castle and find someplace else to live. She was almost instantly kidnapped and gang-raped by about 20 bandits, leading her to believe humans and demons are remarkably similar. She was rescued, however, by Dech, Jayden, Leyla, and a somewhat aloof Dmitri. Shortly after this ordeal, she, Jayden, and Jayden's daughter were all taken captive by Goddess Ives as a ploy to kidnap Dech. Ruth and the others' memories were altered so that they recalled Dech voluntarily leaving them, and she easily believed it seeing as how he had abandoned her before. Finally, Nathan restored her memories, and Malystrics summoned Dech back for him to explain everything. While staying at the mansion, Ruth was seduced and taken away by Derkai in diguise, but brought back by Dech. Upon her return, she became romantically interested in Samuel. He initially rejected her, then agreed to stay with her in a relationship, and took her to meet his mother in Maybud (who hated Ruth). When they got back, Samuel proposed marriage to Ruth, and she agreed. Ruth has a history of being kidnapped repeatedly. Aside from the initial bandit capture, and the capture by Ives, she was then kidnapped by Gim along with a large number of other characters and trapped on a tropical island in another plane for a week. She eventually escaped, with Dech, with the aide of Telly, a goddess in disguise. She was then shortly kidnapped by Del'narreth and extorted into having sex with him. Within the same day, she was beaten to death by Beiel in Del'narreth's own home. She was revived a week later by Nathan, and by then was pregnant again, having miscarried a mere hour after having sex with Del'narreth. She returned home after this ordeal to find that Samuel had left, but when he learned she was alive, he returned. She was kidnapped again by bandits, this time a group led by Eleena, along with Adam. She escaped, informing Samuel and Dechaerrim, who (with a third, Davidus) found and killed the bandits. She was kidnapped again by Del'narreth, for the entire duration of her pregnancy. She gave birth to a baby girl, which Del'narreth had taken from her and sent to Dech with the false message that Ruth was dead. Samuel left again, this time for good, after seeing that her child was not his. She was eventually rescued in a huge team effort by Dech, Traica, Traica's clerk Eilden, Traica's many armed forces, Jayden, Juniper, James, Kiba, and Mai. They all staged a massive attack against Del'narreth's manor, barely escaping alive (in fact, Eilden was taken hostage in the battle, and tortured for months). Ruth stayed longer at the castle with her family until learning that Dech's father was alive again and at large, at which point she and her daughter Violet moved to Lakeside, which at the time was protected by an anti-magic barrier. The barrier has gone up and down since then, and during one of its "downs" she was kidnapped again, this time by Aphila, who allowed Dech's father to torture her until Ceron brought her back to Lakeside. Ruth has recently made the decision to become a full-blooded demon, having Dech's half-sister Teliah cast the transformation spell on her. Current Status Ruth is alive and living in Lakeside. Family Ruth's family is dead except her son, Dechaerrim, his two children Sokoya and Anutda-at, and Ruth's daughter Violet. |
