Overview
Vex is a first-generation character created by Julia. Although his parents are also both PCs, he was created before they were, and they are all first-generation. Although his birth name is Skye, no one (not even he) refers to him by it. Personality Vex is extremely cold and impersonable, with a fierce temper explosive like aged dynamite, and a mind that's quick to take offense, quick to judge, and quick to deem someone worthy of immediate death. He technically favors law, or at least, his own personal law, and battles those he sees as evil and defends those he sees as good. He is more zealous than even most paladins, however, and this is combined with a dangerously low sensitivity to violence. He is distrusting and wary of the world and most people, although he does, on the inside, care for humanity and have a strong sense of justice. He refuses to indulge himself on any form of temptation, even eating his favorite food of cherries. He also takes great offense to being called a child, seeing himself as an adult and wanting to be treated as such. Appearance Vex is a young boy of about 12, with fair skin, blond hair, and blue eyes. He usually wears a long white shirt, and black pants, boots, gloves, and cape. He wields a rapier. Powers Vex has no unusual non-racial abilities. He has a heightened sense of hearing and greater-than-normal strength and speed, but a weakness for music and intense noises. He is also often unstable mentally, prone to hallucinations, paranoia, and seems more susceptible to the Cantish 'berserk mode'. Pre-role-play history Vex was the first-born son of King Derkai and Queen Malystrics or Serpentine. However, Derkai was distressed to learn of the pregnancy, because he hadn't been able to change Vex into the 'perfect' son, and ordered Malystrics to destroy him. Instead, she abandoned Vex in a small coastal town, who communally raised him. However, Derkai and his enslaved sister Peer came and destroyed the town when Vex was still only a child. He became cold and introverted, taking a sword for himself and swearing revenge on them. When he finally meets his aunt Peer again later on, he hates her, and she shares a mutual loathing for him for being the son of Derkai, and they have frequent battles (generally ending with Vex losing). Role-play history Eventually, Vex fell in love with a young girl named Molly, but when she was eaten by Peer's dragon (which had gotten loose), his mental state declined even further. He was romantic towards multiple other girls, including one named Brooke, who had been killed in the coastal town during the attack. Most of the role-players playing the girls left, however, and so Julia considers most of them non-canon. Vex's goddesses, Pari and Paji (mostly Paji), continually try to press him into being their avatar-like crusader. Whenever he refuses, they curse him into the form of a merfolk, spider-taur, or some other creature, causing him to go briefly insane during those states of body. While travelling, he came upon a small village known colloquially as "Milkshake Town", where two waitresses were attacked by two seperate monsters: one being Kalil's father, the other being archdemon Dechaerrim. Vex tried to battle Dech, who taunted and deflected him before disappearing. A long time after, while residing in Lakeside with Kalil, Dech returned as part of a vendetta against Jayden, also living there at the time. Dech ended up kidnapping Vex and torturing him on Ocera for a week, sending him back with a mind almost entirely re-shattered. At various times while living there, he also was transported to Earth, and was bitten by a werewolf before being cured by Stardust. Eventually, Vex did finally accept the demi-deity mantle from his goddesses, but as he used his powers to recklessly kill quite a few people (including town guards, and his own mother after she revived him from death), they revoked his powers, leaving him merely Cantish again. Current Status Recently, Vex was kidnapped by a goddess named Fieron, and thrown through a portal into another land, mutated into a spider-taur at the same time. Family Vex's parents are Derkai and Malystrics, his aunt is Peer, and his brother is Jasper. |
